Getting a job in the industry of bridge cranes becomes much easier with the Overhead Crane Operator Certification. Rigging properly and work site safety are the two main factors that operators need to always keep in mind. With the requisite qualifications and authorized training, a career in this field can be a rewarding one.

Operators need to be well versed in duties including gantry maintenance, rigging, operation and signaling. With the training, operators will be able to handle the challenges that come with the job. The duration of training is normally for four days but it also depends on the particular gantry.

Once training begins, one is given a comprehensive education about the requirements of the job and knowledge of operations. Instructors are experts with the necessary background in the line. Their veteran experience ensures that credibility is achieved by their wards.

The first form that operators have to face is the tower crane operator qualification which enables them to operate cranes attached to a tall metal frame. Eligibility criteria for the National Certificate of gantry Operators is to be above the age of 18, medical clearance from the state transportation department and proof of having passed a physical exam. The examination involves a written test followed by a practical test within a year of passing the former and the qualification validity lasts for 60 months.

As people become more practical, it would be foolish to avoid the training that leads to a license. The fact is in this competitive day and age, one needs all the help they can get to get ahead of others. Employers will seek credibility in candidates with a license that proves it.

There are different requirements for operating hoisting machines. This mobile machine differs as the gantry arm has a joint in it. In order to acquire the NCCCO recognition to qualify, candidates over 18 have to pass a physical test and provide a transport department issued health certificate.

Qualification requires appearing in written examinations of which there are a total of three. The operators can then handle machines like boom cranes and boom loaders and also boom cranes that come with winches. The five year certification is awarded after practical skills are tested.

Machines of the mobile hoisting variety are another option for operators. These heavy gantries have tires to move around on the site. 18 years plus candidates with transport department issued health certificate can apply.

Overhead cranes are controlled by remote control making it necessary for operators to be trained for the same. In this gantry there is a hook connected to a metallic bar that is static. For qualification for the NCCCO nod, candidates should not be below 18 years and need the transport department to provide medical clearance.

The concerned authorities advise that training for Overhead Crane Operator Certification should only be taken from qualified sources only. In addition to operating the massive cranes, operators are also required to inspect as well as to maintain the machines regularly. A physically demanding job, operating cranes can also be quite risky.
